I have a confession to make which I hope wouldn’t freak you out much.
I talk in the shower.
Not weird enough? Well you see, I talk out loud. It’s not the usual ’self-scolding’ people do once in a while when they do something stupid (“Bad Nicole, Bad!”). I talk as if there’s someone there. I don’t just talk really, I act.
Heh. Did I trigger your freak alert yet? No? Okay, let’s move on. Usually when I’m taking a shower, I make up a scenario in my head. Most of the time, it’s the same story. I play as Nicole and I mysteriously got transported to a place where there is a different concept of time and place and culture. I would look like a cartoon which I would soon realize when I look at my hands. I’ll go to the nearest stall where a woman is selling rice cakes or burnt fish or something like that and then I’ll ask what country I’m in and what date is it. She’ll look at me funny and point at my clothes.
Then a man would come up and pull me into a dark corner. He’ll say, in a hushed yet urgent voice that I was late. That he has summoned me 2 years ago and that I may be too late to save mankind from killing each other. Turns out I am some sort of mystical being in their world and I have the power to stop an ongoing war.
Haha. Yes all while taking a bath.
Sometimes the story would be more about finding myself in another world and then actually finding people whom I know in real life in that other world. Only, they have been transported in that world way longer than I have been. The time it took for my body to reach that new dimension was longer than the rest so they have already established their lives in that dimension. And then I would bug them to go back to the real world.
Uh-huh. All while taking a bath.
I think I really am an escapist. I mean, everyone is an escapist but I think I got it pretty bad. Guh. I wish I can make a solid plot though and then weave it into a perfectly passable story instead of just washing it away in the shower. ~.~
touch it?

I feel the Gaiman influence.

I… I keep getting that.
I am sorry to insult Gaiman, it was completely unintentional. Also, I wish I can start writing all the shit out so I can start developing my own style.

i was blog hopping and came across your blod and this entry. first thing that came to mind was, “OMGWTF!” this is is just odd. i do the same thing. i talk in the shower and say stuff out loud. haha! i normally play scenes in my head like you do. a conversation i wish i had with a past love and me imagining talking to him again a few years after we’ve been apart. i thought i was weird like that. glad to know that it is somehow normal.
