Mood: ehrmmm…
It was really fun; drinking on a Saturday night with high school friends. I tagged the boyfriend and my bestfriend along which added more fun to the evening. Two of my HS friends were in a generous mood so beer and food were on the excessive side.
Then, the inevitable happened. A couple of awkward HS memories were put to the table. What is there left to talk about really? When you’re all leading separate lives now and there are people present who don’t share the same high school memories that you have, the only choice left is to open up some awkward high school memories for you all to laugh at. It’s good exercise especially if you’re the type to choose the memories that you would keep.
I have already forgotten a lot of things about high school.
“Pantasya ka kaya nung dalawang yun nung high school!”
… like that. I’ve completely forgotten about that little rumor which didn’t turn out to be just a rumor after all. Understand that I’m not pretty nor sexy nor anything near lustworthy. Really. I’m not just playing modest here or fishing for compliments, I really am not. So until now even after confirming it and all that, I still don’t believe it. But, if it were true, I can probably attribute it to only one thing: curiosity. I never had a boyfriend from USTHS. All people know about me is that I was good at drawing (I was, back then) and I was the paper’s EIC. That’s it. All my romantic relationships from high school were with older guys from other schools. Also, I’m pretty outspoken with the things people don’t normally talk about openly in high school. They were probably wondering why a nerd like me can know so much. So I can understand why they were curious. But that’s it. Curiosity.
I have two more USTHS awkward memories that I would want to share. Those involve taking first kisses.
The word is: taking.
But I’ll save that for another post.
