Mood: errrr…..
Apart from the blog post a day thing I’ve been trying to accomplish, I also really wished I could keep a journal or buy a planner for this year. I was choosing between This Journal Will Actually Change Your Life and the Starbucks Planner. I ended up getting neither since that was around the time my laptop (fondly called Chimera) crashed and the holidays came and I ended up short on cash.
Luckily, a friend gave me his Starbucks planner! Yay! He has his Fujitsu one and he prefers to keep that. YES!! So here’s what the thing looks like inside (LOL as if you don’t know already)

So I sat down after taking all those pictures, psyched myself up and took the pen out. I wasn’t especially impressed with the layout and I really think that the 2008 Starbucks Planner was better. Bulky, sure but it has more character than this one. I don’t know what Starbucks is trying to prove. Maybe they want people to think that hey, what matters is what you write on it, not how cool you look while carrying it. But then again, come ON Starbucks! How much do people have to spend to get one of these things! It could have used just a liiiiittle bit more oomph you know?
Anyway with this spacious area for writing, I have decided to also write a little bit on this journal every single day. This will be like my uh… longhand Ice Cream of Doom Plurk.
Doing this blogging once a day and updating journal everyday thing is part of my grand scheme of writing more as I’ve said in my last post for 2008. I’m going to write again. Sure these may be journals and short accounts of my life.. it hardly needs an imagination push, but still I’ll be writing. For as long as I string words into coherence and create thrills out of my mundane life, I think I’m on the right direction.

touch it?

i actually like the look of the sbux planner now..sayang lang wla na yung leather jacket pero it looks more like a notebook now, i think XD mas madali syang pakisamahan pag nilagay mo sa bag haha. I’ve kept my journal since 2005; so it IS a bit dog eared and i had to redo the plastic cover twice now but i’ve still space on it for at least 2 more years to come. papemelroti rocks XD
If you’re going to be bringing it everywhere i suggest you gear it up with covers and stuff though.
Although I actually prefer refillable planners, I decided to buy a Belle de Jour Power Planner for 2009 last year when my friend recommended it. The pages are nice, but like her, I got intrigued with all the discount coupons from a lot of shops!
I was never a fan of Starbucks planners, though. There was a time I found it nice, but not nice enough to make me spend a lot on coffee!
i’ve long since stopped from writing a journal when I entered college, although i have quite a few journals here and there mostly as gifts or from a promo. i still do keep one… make that two (the second being iCal).
the one i really use most of the are the taschen diaries…purveyors of artbooks. they’re really attractive planners and relatively cheap compared to the starbucks diary (when you compute the number of coffee you have to consume).
my mom, too, has both planners but she often use the taschen diary.
